Why Solar
The sun is the centerpiece of our solar system, and powerful beyond all comprehension. In a single second it produces enough energy to power all of the current human civilization for the next 500,000 years. Even though Earth is only a small target from the sun and receives just a fraction of that, that fractional amount is still over 10,000 times what humanity uses. For example, if the entire surface of the Earth was covered in solar panels, it would be like giving every group of 50 people their own private nuclear reactor (and not a small one - it would be full utility size). Obviously it would be a bit tricky to cover the entire Earth in solar panels, but even on a small scale the benefits of solar power are plainly evident.
No doubt we’ve all heard about the importance of “Going Green” and environmental awareness, passed recycling bins in the park, or seen political speeches focused on sustainability.
